Robert is a New York native who traveled to Latin America for years, living and learning the language, but specially enjoying the culture. He is an experienced traveler with a great interest and love of Latin America, Europe and Asia. Robert grasps Latin America, its culture and people as though he has lived there all his life. Sharing his time and his life between USA, and Costa Rica, he is always going around looking for new places, cultures, and experiences to share with others. Robert is also a talented musician who enjoys sharing his music with the world. Robert is married to Rebecca Demes.

With a lifetime of experience in public and international relations, Rebecca provides Amistad Institute with the knowledge necessary to connect cultures. Rebecca received a Bachelor Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from UNED. She is dedicated to ensuring that each and every student and participant feels at home in the country and acquires the best cultural experience possible, and she is always looking for new connections and new cultures to explore and learn. Rebecca is married to New York native and Amistad Institute co owner, Robert Demes.
