Soybean and Corn Prices Fall From May Peak, Still Much Higher Than Pre-Pandemic – Dakota Free Press

I wonder if Jim Bolin complains about all the inflation President Biden is causing in soy:

Soy is selling 60% above its disastrous level from summer 2018 to summer 2020.

But is also hitting new heights since the last time Joe Biden hung around the White House:

No wonder Republicans are trying to distract us from Booming economy. These agricultural prices are better than anything the previous White House did for us:

While [Rep. Dusty] Johnson blasts price hikes, he should note that agricultural commodities have skyrocketed since Biden was elected. Corn and soybeans, two of South Dakota’s major crops, rose 25% and 30%, respectively, since last November. The cattle are in place 15% and the pigs are in place – are you ready? – almost 40%. All of these prices were considerably higher just a few weeks ago, and I’m sure our savviest growers were able to take advantage of the opportunities to get the best prices they’ve seen in years. In the meantime, I don’t see Johnson complaining about rising prices in agriculture, so his selective outrage at rising prices is directed at politically convenient targets like oil and coffee – which, by the way , are only up from a year ago when the economy was crushed and demand fell out of bed. Compared to the years before the pandemic, these prices are about where they were then. [John Tsitrian, “Speaking of Dusty Johnson and Inflation, He Might Consider How Rising Prices Are Doing Us South Dakotans Some Good,” South Dakota Standard, 2021.06.23].

Of course, we won’t be able to take advantage of these excellent crop prices if we don’t rain. Maybe the Republicans can continue their tradition of projection and find a way to blame president Biden for climate change.
