SEE TEFL will soon open a new center in Bangkok, Thailand

After succeeding in Chiang Mai, SEE TEFL is now looking to Bangkok. The school is considering a building near the Victory Monument, just a 50-minute walk from an MRT station, as the location for its new branch. The building is already licensed by the Thai Ministry of Education.

The school has been training teachers for 16 years and is excited to expand beyond Chiang Mai, where it is headquartered. “We verbally agreed on the location with the owner of the building. Hopefully we will have dates for this new center on our website by the end of this year,” said SEE TEFL Director John Quinn.

Meeting the challenges of the pandemic

SEE TEFL admits the school has been among those hard hit by the pandemic over the past two years, as classes are conducted on-site. According to the school, its biggest challenge was the technical aspect of offering online courses.

For much of the past two years, SEE TEFL has been unable to visit local schools to observe teaching practices. Instead, the company relied heavily on Zoom, where watchers could view prices and provide feedback in real time. Interns would deliver their teaching practices in one of SEE TEFL’s classrooms.

John Quinn shared: “However, we have great management and great staff so we were able to adapt quickly and effectively to this situation. From the moment the COVID-19 restrictions started to affect our programs, we started offering on-site trainings, as before, and live from the same training room via Zoom. We have installed two cameras in the training room so that those taking training via Zoom can see their fellow trainees on site and the trainer at the same time. They were also able to participate fully in all the contributions of the training, including the teaching practices observed.

Looking forward to post-pandemic classes

With the easing of travel restrictions in Thailand and the Thai government treating COVID-19 as endemic from July, SEE TEFL is eagerly awaiting the return of larger groups of TEFL teachers to the country. The school expects that it won’t be for long, that everything will return to normal and that the number of teachers wishing to train with them will explode.

SEE TEFL is an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher training school. The school’s TEFL programs are accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education, which means they are officially recognized by the government. At the end of the training, the certificates can be notarized by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chiang Mai. The school’s management system complies with the ISO 9001 standard.

SEE TEFL is a TQUK (Teaching Qualifications United Kingdom) training center and is also authorized to issue through TQUK, Ofqual (the UK government department that regulates UK qualifications) regulated TEFL Level 5 certificates. A UK University Baccalaureate is Level 6. SEE TEFL certificates are recognized worldwide and their TEFL graduates can travel all over the world and teach EFL.
