National Board of Review Awards Licorice Pizza Best Film

The National Board of Review, the first great precursor of the Oscars, has announced its winners. Licorice Pizza, by Paul Thomas Anderson, got a much love from the NBR, receiving Best Picture awards as well as groundbreaking performances for Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman. king richard landed both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress for Will Smith and Aunjanue Ellis. The best actress went to Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), who is only the second Latina to win in the category, after Fernanda Montenegro, who won in 1998. Over the past 30 years, Oscar nominations for Best Picture have often overlapped with those for Best Picture of NBR, with a few exceptions. Find below the complete list of NBR winners.
