Formulation of a living example of NEP of cooperative federalism: Dharmendra Pradhan | Education

The formulation of the New National Education Policy (NEP) is a living example of cooperative federalism to achieve a common goal of making India a global knowledge hub, the Education Minister of the United Kingdom said on Tuesday. Union, Dharmendra Pradhan.

Pradhan discussed the launch of a brochure detailing the initiatives taken in one year since the deployment of the NEP.

“The NEP is a guiding philosophy for turning the hopes and aspirations of millions of young people into reality and empowering India. The formulation of the NEP is also a living example of cooperative federalism to achieve a common goal of making India a global knowledge hub. When we look at the progress of the NEP, we become more confident about the future of our students, ”he said.

“Education is not just a competition for degrees, but is a transformative tool to harness knowledge for character building and eventually nation building. ,” he added.

Besides the Achievements Booklet, the Minister also launched initiatives such as NIPUN Bharat FLN tools and resources on DIKSHA; NIOS Virtual School; NCERT’s alternative academic calendar and published “Priya,” an accessibility booklet developed by NCERT and the Department of Disability Empowerment.

“Priya – The Accessibility Warrior”, which is the result of the collaborative efforts of the Department for the Empowerment of People with Disabilities (Divyangjan), the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Department of School Education and literacy.

It gives a glimpse into the world of a girl named Priya who was in an accident and couldn’t walk due to a leg cast. The story describes how she manages to participate in all activities at school and in doing so learns the importance of accessibility. Priya therefore takes the oath to be an accessibility warrior. The comic is also available with explanatory videos in Indian Sign Language (ISL).

The Minister, at the launch of the Virtual School of the National Institute of Open Education (NIOS), said that this school is a new model of learning and illustrates how to take advantage of technology and innovation can facilitate greater inclusion in education. The school is the first initiative of its kind in the country that will provide advanced digital learning platforms through live virtual classrooms and virtual labs.

Union for Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar said accessibility opens doors to opportunity and growth, thereby restoring the importance of creating an accessible environment for all. He added that awareness and a sensitized community are the essential drivers of any revolutionary change.
