‘Autonauts’ is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox later this month

Autonauts is an original idea of the former DMA Design (Grand Theft Auto, Lemmings) creative director Gary Penn and offers players the ability to explore the universe and colonize procedurally generated planets, using the help of fully programmable AI assistants.

Fresh out of your spaceship, you must harvest sticks and stones to begin your colonization efforts. Create rudimentary crafting items from blueprints and build dozens of worker robots to optimize your economy as you progress through multiple eras of technology.

Coding AI is simply a case of players showing their worker robots what they would like them to do step by step – be it cooking, farming, mining, construction or any other something your ingenious imagination can come up with. As long as worker bots have enough memory to store the routine, they will diligently fulfill their role until it is completed or they run out of power – requiring only a quick liquidation by the player or other robots to get back online.

Essentially, players code the AI to do their bidding using a powerful yet easy-to-learn visual programming language, with hundreds of different building options to unlock.

Athe utonauts combines the best of the farming, simulation, crafting and production line genres and has been designed to suit all skill levels and ages of players with a charming tutorial, in-depth campaign and several creative modes where players are free to express themselves as they see fit.
